Dear Colleagues,
Review of the Student Learning Experience in Physics/Chemistry
The Physical Sciences Centre is carrying out reviews of the student
learning experience in chemistry and physics in HE. The review will
gather information from both academic staff and undergraduate students.
The final report will provide academics with an accurate view of
teaching practices in UK chemistry departments and an insight into
undergraduate perceptions and expectations which go beyond the level of
feedback obtained via the National Student Survey. The review will
provide a benchmark against which to map future pedagogic developments
within the discipline.
In order for the outcomes of the review to be meaningful it is important
that we gather information from as many academics and students as
possible. I would like to ask for your assistance with this and to
complete our questionnaire which takes around 10 minutes. A copy of each
staff questionnaire is attached and electronic versions areavailable at
www.survey.bris.ac.uk/hull/chem_staff and
http://www.survey.bris.ac.uk/hull/physics_staff.
With many thinks,
Tina
