Hi Glenn
We were asked to work on the wards last year ( I say asked 'loosely' as
it actually became compulsory), however those nurses with medical
history ie: musculoskeletal were exempt. As for updates HR said that if
you were not confident to work as a trained nurse on the ward you could
go on as an HCA or help with housekeeping. I didn't go as I was exempt
however a colleague did go but was allowed to work office hours and not
shifts.
Regards
Sharon

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] NHS Staff and ward work
Hello
Can I ask my NHS colleagues if you've been asked to work on wards during
the crisis on beds and to help with staffing levels?
If you have been asked, have you accepted or refused? Have you been
offered
training/updates?
Or is this not a global issue affecting OH staff in the NHS?
regards
Glenn
