KEELE UNIVERSITY
PRIMARY CARE MUSCULOSKELETAL RESEARCH CENTRE
Research Assistant: Health Services Research
Grade 6a (starting point £25,134)
Two year fixed term post
We are looking for a health service researcher, to work as part of a
team that will carry out a project funded under the Research for Patient
Benefit programme, entitled “How are decisions made about self-care for
knee pain and disability?” This qualitative study builds on our previous
research and intends to provide insight into barriers and facilitators
of self-care in a predominantly working class area, including issues of
comorbidity and health priorities, patient choice, content, uptake and
sustainability of self-care. Findings will be translated into guidance
for practitioners and patients on targeting and supporting self-care for
knee pain, and this will impact on practice changes being considered in
the redesign of services under the musculoskeletal services framework.
This post offers an opportunity to join a successful multidisciplinary
research centre and to contribute to the further development of our
qualitative research.
You will preferably have a degree in one of the social sciences, and
knowledge or experience of qualitative research.
