KING’S COLLEGE LONDON
DIVISION OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE RESEARCH
NON-CLINICAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (Part time)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to take part
in an innovative empirical investigation relating
to the new translational research agenda outlined
by the Cooksey Report (2006). Research
translation in academic settings is at an early
stage and this project will therefore be
important in identifying and contributing to key
issues in the field. The successful post holder
will work specifically on a project funded to
evaluate a new research translator pilot scheme
recently set up at King’s College that is one of
two MRC pilot schemes in the UK. This research
will assess the process of implementing early
stages of research translation to identify both
facilitators and barriers, how and why these
arise, and what is regarded as success, how
‘success’ is defined and by whom. Knowledge
gained from this project is likely to influence
the future development and implementation of research translation schemes.
The post is available on a Grade RA1A salary
scale plus London Allowance of £2,323 for 18
months (p/t) The researcher will work with a
research team that comprises Dr Myfanwy Morgan
(Project Director), Professor Jane Sandall,
Professor Jenny Donovan (Bristol University), Dr
Annette Boaz and Professor Charles Wolfe.
To receive an application pack for either post,
please contact: Imran Sayed, 7th Floor Capital
House, 42 Weston St, London. SE1 3QD.
