Dear All,
The British Geophysical Association's New Advances in Geophysics annual
conference, "Geophysics of Global Climate Change" is on 7th-8th February
2008 at the Geological Society, Burlington House, London. The deadline
for abstracts (talks/posters) and for the reduced registration fee is
********** this Saturday, 12th January 2008 *********
Please see the British Geophysical Association website at
http://www.geophysics.org.uk (follow links from "Meetings and Events")
and the meeting website
http://www.personal.soton.ac.uk/~heiko/NAG2008/NAG2008.html
(which is working again after some downtime last week for upgrade
of Southampton University's web servers).
Please address any queries to me ([log in to unmask]).
STUDENTS - registration is free for students but the payment website
does not accept a zero registration payment and hence loses your
details. We need to know names for badges and numbers for the catering, so
PLEASE EMAIL ME ([log in to unmask]) if you intend to attend as a student,
with your name, affiliation and degree you are studying for (as well as sending your
abstract to Prof. Andrew Roberts at [log in to unmask] if you want to give a
talk or poster). The abstract deadline of 12th Jan applies to students, too!
The BULLERWELL LECTURE takes place during this meeting, on Thursday afternoon
at probably 4.45 pm (I will confirm the time as soon as we have a
definite timetable). The title is "Beneath the Ice: Geophysical
Observations at Rutford Ice Stream, West Antarctica" and the lecturer
is Tavi Murray (Swansea University). An abstract is available on the
BGA website.
The BGA AGM is to take place at lunchtime on Friday 8th (exact time to
be confirmed). We have vacancies on the Committee: please contact
the Secretary, Lucy Mathers, if you would like to volunteer or nominate
someone or if you have any business for the AGM. Email [log in to unmask]
I look forward to seeing you at Burlington House.
Regards,
Sheila Peacock.
