People with cancer and an intellectual disability – an international issue
with local significance.
A one day seminar will be held in the John MacIntyre Centre, Pollock
halls, The University of Edinburgh on Friday 22nd February 2008.
This event, jointly hosted by the Centre for the Older Person’s Agenda
(COPA), the Cancer Care Research Centre (CCRC), and the Centre for
Research on Families and Relationships (CRFR), launches the report: ‘Older
people with learning disabilities affected by cancer: Involvement and
engagement work to inform a research agenda’ and provides a national
update on cancer related issues for people with learning disabilities. The
focus of the event will be on networking and the development of future
work.
Who should attend?
Policy makers in the field of health and social care, particularly cancer
care, and practitioners, service providers and carers supporting people
with an intellectual disability.
