Hi Mark,
Could you put details of this talk on the Community Psychology page
and/or email discussion list (apologies -- I'm not a member of the list
as I'm trying to limit the appalling size of my email inbox!).
Hope all's well with you.
Cheers
Dave

Dear all,
At short notice UEL's Critical Psychology group has learned that

do a talk here next Thursday (details below). Please pass this on to
anyone you think might be interested in attending.
Best wishes,

Women beer promoters becoming health promoters: Successful strategies
from a Cambodian community critically confronting risks from alcohol,
HIV/AIDS, violence and trafficking
Ian Lubek, Professor of Psychology at University of Guelph (Canada)
Thursday 24 January, 1.00-2.00pm, AE 116 (Arthur Edwards building, The
Green), Stratford Campus
Ian Lubek’s research interests have included theory, meta-theory and
epistemology; gender issues in scientific mentoring and career
productivity; the social psychology of science; violence and media; the
history of social psychology; and, most recently, problems of
participatory action research, community health issues concerning the
HIV/AIDS epidemic in northern Cambodia, and multi-sectorial health
intervention programs. His ongoing collaborative research intervention
in Siem Reap (Angkor Wat) Cambodia, targets groups increasingly
vulnerable to HIV/AIDS: survivors of genocide, women and children.
Intervention strategies address the lack of literacy among women, the
expansion of sexual tourism and risks to young persons, and the
potentially harmful employment practices of major international beer
companies competing for market share. Related Research Websites:
