Dear Collegues,
Does any of you have PDF copies of master plans of any large city in
Central-East Europe or the Former Soviet Union? Very few seem to be
avialale through individual city websites (I have found only Belgrade and
Sofia so far). Aside from English, I can read the plans in Russian, Serbo-
Croatian and Macedonian.
Also, does anyone have any information on the evolution of urban planning
education after socialism? There are some general articles on the topic by
people such as Maier and Thomas in American journals, but I am looking for
something more specific in terms of what type of universities urban
planning is taught (e.g. architecture schools or economic schools), the
courses thought, the courses eliminated after 1989, and the courses added
after 1989. Even if you summarize in a paragraph your personal impressions
of how the urban planning curriculum has changed in the university you are
teaching in would be very helpful to me.
Thank you in advance!
