Head of Special Collections
The Women’s Library
Salary from £46,056 to £51,144 per annum
This new post, which replaces the former Director of the Women's
Library, offers an exciting opportunity to bring together and develop
the University's important research collections. These are primarily the
Women’s Library, which is the major repository for the recording and
studying of the changing role of women within the social, political,
cultural and economic context of the UK and the TUC Library Collections,
which is the major research library for the historical and contemporary
study of Trade Unions and collective bargaining in the UK.
The exploitation of the University’s special collections will require
you to be pro-active in establishing and maintaining external contacts
with, for example, the press, the local community, donors, grant
awarding bodies, similar national and international collections.
You will report to the Head of Library Services whose Department plays a
key role in the development and delivery of high quality, effective
learning resources in support of the academic process and curriculum
delivery.
