The Clinical Trials Research Unit at the University of Leeds is a leader in the field of clinical trials research. The Unit conducts national and international randomised clinical trials in a variety of clinical fields (cancer, cardiovascular disease and care of the elderly) and has an associated methodological research portfolio. The statistical team are involved in a wide range of statistical activities including design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials, meta-analysis, non-randomised studies and statistical research.
This is a joint initiative, funded by the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, to develop a portfolio of clinical trials research in areas including cardiovascular disease, imaging, musculoskeletal disease and dentistry. We are looking to appoint a Principal Statistician to support the development of the Portfolio.
With a postgraduate qualification in Statistics (MSc/PhD), experience in applied research trials, project management and people management skills and a nationally recognized research profile in clinical trials and medical statistics. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join a team of 10 statisticians. The post is available for a fixed term of 3 years, with the possibility of extension dependent on funding.

Medical Statistician/Senior Medical Statistician - (full/part-time)
University Grade 6 (£22,332 - £26,666 p.a.) or University Grade 7 (£27,466 - £32,796 p.a.) depending on experience

This full time post is available immediately for a fixed term of three years (with the possibility of extension dependent on funding). Part time will also be considered (minimum of 50% fte)

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join a team of ten statisticians supporting the Unit's work on clinical trials. As a (Senior) Medical Statistician you will be involved in a wide range of statistical activities, including funding applications, design, conduct and analysis of Phase II/III clinical trials and general consulting to health professionals
With a postgraduate qualification in Statistics you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work well within a multidisciplinary team which includes coordinators, health professionals and programmers. For the more senior post, experience in clinical trials is required.
