The University of Liverpool in conjunction with Xi’an Jiaotong University and a commercial partner have developed a new and unique University in China, Xi’an Jiaotong – Liverpool University. The University now has over 700 students undertaking undergraduate programmes in a number of subject areas. These programmes have been designed to take the best of the UK and Chinese HE systems, and lead to a University of Liverpool award. The students will be offered a period of study here at Liverpool on our regular programmes, and in order to support this initiative the University is now seeking to appoint to the following posts, which are based in Liverpool, but with a requirement to engage with work in China. The posts attract a special HEFCE-funded “Golden Hello” to the value of £9K, subject to individuals satisfying the eligibility criteria.
Applications are invited for 2 Lectureships in Statistics and Probability in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent research strengths in an area of Financial Mathematics, Statistics or Applied Probability, be keen to promote interdisciplinary contacts and be committed to high-quality teaching. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in financial mathematics or statistical inference for stochastic processes.
