The Institute of Psychiatry is a postgraduate medical school of King's
College London. The Health Service & Population Research Department of the
Institute investigates the evidence-base for innovative treatments and
services to improve people’s mental health and to enhance their quality of
life. The department is currently seeking a medical statistician.
Duties will include analysing data sets, providing advice to colleagues on
statistical methods, helping to design and run short courses, assisting with
the preparation of bids for funding and writing articles for publication.
Required qualifications are a postgraduate degree in medical statistics or
equivalent, and knowledge of SPSS or Stata. Previous work experience and an
interest in mental health service research are preferable but not essential.
The post is full time for an initial period of 1 year, with the possibility
of extension, commencing as soon as possible. Flexible working arrangements
may be possible. The salary will be on the ALC2 scale (£27,162 pa to £30,686
pa inclusive of £2,323 London Allowance).
