Pricing Analyst
Kwik-Fit Financial Services are one of the UK's
leading home & motor insurance intermediaries and
was recently awarded the accolade of ‘Scotland’s
employer of the year’ 2007. We are currently
looking to recruit a Pricing Analyst to join an
existing high profile team. You will be
responsible for making recommendations on
appropriate statistical techniques to employ in
analysis of historical KFFS data; devising,
conducting and analysing appropriate pricing
tests; construction, development and maintenance
of conversion and retention models; ultimately.
You will also provide training to other team
members in use of statistical techniques.
You will be an excellent communicator who can
interpret technical results for a non-technical
audience, both in writing and orally. You will
have excellent knowledge of analytical techniques
including segmentation, regression, logistic
regression and predictive modelling and hold a
relevant degree. You will be results oriented
with the ability to work on your own initiate and
bring proven analytical skills to the role.
This is a high profile role, with an opportunity
to make inputs into the strategic direction of the company.

Position Title: Pricing Analyst
Job Purpose/Objective: To employ sound
statistical approaches to data analysis to
deliver sophisticated pricing and targeting of customers
Critical Tasks and Expected Contributions/Results
· Analysis of historical KFI data
· Devising, conducting and analysing appropriate pricing tests
· Making recommendations on appropriate
statistical techniques to employ in analysis
· Construction, development and
maintenance of conversion and retention models
· Customer segmentation
· Making recommendations on pricing
actions to be taken to meet the business priorities at that time
· Making recommendations on targeting of customer groups
· Assist and provide training to other
team members in use of statistical techniques
Current State of Function
· This position will join a data insight
team who provide MI and interpret MI for various
stakeholders both in the business and external to the business
· The team is going through an
implementation of a new data warehouse which will
change the way all tasks are completed
· SPSS has been recently purchased and the
team are in the process of familiarising
themselves with this application and with new statistical techniques
· New price elasticity models have been
developed, but are still in an early stage and
require significant further development.

· To gain an understanding of the factors affecting business performance
· To gain buy-in from all relevant internal parties
· To effectively present findings from
complex analysis to people from non-technical backgrounds
· Competition within the market is very strong.
· More and more customers are buying
through the Internet and we need to ensure our
rates are very competitive there.
· The prevalence of aggregators, provides
both a challenge and an opportunity for Kwik-Fit
· The market is hardening (year on year
rate increases are going up) so customers are starting to shopping around more.
· We retain our unique advantage in the
face of this competition. I.E Outbound calling to
Kwik-Fit customers. It is critical that we
continue to exploit this unique route to market.

Experience/Knowledge Requirements
· Excellent knowledge of analytical
techniques including segmentation, regression,
logistic regression and predictive modelling
· Experience of using SPSS would be advantageous, but not essential
· Degree educated in Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant subject
· An understanding of the insurance market is desirable
