· Partnership building case studies
This is the second of three community participation/engagement training courses run by MLA London. Each course can be booked as a stand-alone training session but all complement each other to produce an informative and exciting package.
Copyright and the Web
Date: Thursday 31st January 2008
Time: 10.00am to 4.00pm
Venue: The Women's Library, Old Castle Street, London, E1 7NT
Developed by the MDA in 2007, this innovative course is designed to help those working in museums, libraries and archives deal confidently with copyright issues generated by digitisation and use of the Internet and other electronic mediums to promote access to collections.
Facilitated by MDA trainer, Naomi Korn, participants on this hands-on course will have opportunities to discuss their existing copyright practices and problems, and will leave with the knowledge and skills to implement best practice in their own organisations.
Topics include:
· Protection of digital assets
· User engagement and rights issues
· Web 2.0 and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
· Digital rights management (DRM)
· Open content licensing
· Open source and the public domain
· Creative Commons and Creative Archive licences
Participants on the Copyright Essentials course facilitated by Naomi Korn in December 2007 felt more confident about copyright and 100% of delegates gave the trainer the top score for delivery and knowledge in their evaluations.
This is the second of three Copyright training courses run by MLA London. Each course can be booked as a stand-alone training session, or as a combination of the three.
