The Hydrogeology Group of the Geological Society of London is organising a one day meeting on Thursday 22nd May 2008 at Burlington House - "Hydrogeology meets Hydroecology".
The meeting will consider the interactions between groundwater and wetland ecosystems, particularly with regard to key processes, their conceptualisation and analysis. This is set within the arena of the Water Framework Directive and, in particular, groundwater dependent terrestrial ecosystems (GWDTEs).
Submissions from across the disciplines of hydrogeology, hydrology, aquatic biology, ecology and catchment management are all encouraged. Inter-disciplinary papers, and those highlighting recent scientific research, conceptual developments, and implications for monitoring and management are particularly welcome.
Abstracts (<300 words) should be emailed to the convenors Anna Wetherell (Natural England) and Daren Gooddy (British Geological Survey) by 8th February 2008.
