RESEARCH STATISTICIAN (Full time or Part time)
A research statistician is required to join a research team working on the
analysis of a study of the early development of cardiovascular and diabetes
risks in 5000 British children from different ethnic groups. The successful
applicant will be responsible for managing the study data sets and carrying
out statistical analyses (involving multilevel modelling), under the
supervision of the study directors. The results of the study will be
important for the early prevention of chronic disease, particularly in
ethnic minority groups.
We are seeking candidates with expertise both in data management and
statistical analysis. You should have an MSc in medical statistics (or an
equivalent degree in a related discipline) and excellent computing skills in
relation to data manipulation and statistical analysis. Experience of using
STATA and/or SAS would be an advantage.
The post is full-time, but may be configured as a combination of two
half-time appointments. Salary will be in the range £30,030 to £35,360 p.a.
(inclusive of London allowance) depending upon experience and
qualifications.
Informal enquiries will be welcomed by Professor Peter Whincup (020 8725
