Dear All,
We're happy to announce the second in the Cultural Memory Seminar Series for the year 2007-08:
"Cultural Memory and Visual Culture"
Saturday 23rd February, 2008, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Institute of Germanic and Romance Studies, Room 274, Stewart House (adjacent to Senate House, University of London).
The speakers:
Professor Annette Kuhn (Queen Mary, University of London), "Memory texts and memory work: performances of memory in and with
visual media"
Professor Jonathan Long (University of Durham), "Cityscape and Memory: Photographs of Berlin 1870/1990"
Professor Andrea Noble (University of Durham), "Memory and Photographic Icons of the Mexican Revolution"
As always, we will have one paper in the morning followed by lunch (own arrangements, but we normally go en masse to a local café). There are then two more papers in the afternoon, rounded off by general discussion.
All are welcome and there is no fee.
PLEASE CIRCULATE WIDELY.
