There is an opportunity for an ESRC PhD award holder in their 2nd or 3rd
year to undertake a 3-month placement at the Social Exclusion Task Force
(SETF), Cabinet Office. The placement will involve undertaking
quantitative research to provide greater insight into who experiences
social exclusion and what drives social exclusion among families with
children. The placement will suit someone with a strong quantitative
background, ideally with experience in using multivariate statistical
techniques applied to longitudinal and panel data, and with an interest in
poverty, disadvantage and social exclusion. The award holder offered the
placement would receive a 3-month fully funded extension to their PhD. If
successful the start date can be from early January 2008 to mid September
2008.
