Subject: Re: List Business; also, a nice rejection note, and my MS at last
Good heavens, what is this, the Internet equivalent of a literary salon, or
the UN General Assembly? (Or a university faculty heheh;-) But...whatever
works... as long as we can keep up the poems and discussion.
I missed whatever it was that went on, because I was away, but there seems
to have been a major ruckus. (I seem to recall this happening before at this
time of year). I hope those involved have now gone for a walk, had a calming
drink or a relaxing bath, or at least got a few good poems out of it.
In other news...
I just got a rejection note from Australian magazine Going Down Swinging
including the following:
'We do respect the work, courage and persistence that writers must employ to
deal with editors and publishers.' Nice of them to include this
acknowledgement.
And today I'm posting off my manuscript at last, my first collection, to a
local small press. Finally got it together! I'll try a small number of small
presses and if that doesn't work I'll self-publish it. It's good in a way
that it has taken me so many years because I have a much stronger body of
work now (IMHO at least).
The temperature reached 43 degrees here yesterday (Boxing Day / St Stephens
Day / 26 Dec). Ecch.
