First announcement
XIX International Symposium on the Jahn-Teller Effect:
Vibronic Interactions and Orbital Physics
in Molecules and in the Condensed Phase
Heidelberg, University Campus,
Chemistry Lecture Hall (INF 252)
25th - 29th August 2008
-----------------------------------
Dear Colleagues,
we are pleased to announce the XIX International Jahn-Teller Symposium.
It continues a series of (mostly biannual) conferences which started in the
1970s and addresses fundamental issues of the Jahn-Teller effect and
vibronic interactions as well as their applications. The last meeting of
the series was held in Trieste (Italy) in August 2006. For the forthcoming
symposium we expect 100-120 participants, about 15 invited and a
similar number of contributed talks, with a fair balance of (gas phase)
molecular and condensed matter physics. Although the focus will be more on
theory, also a substantial amount of experimental work is to be presented.
