I've used "White Garment of Churches" rather extensively with College Prep students. However, I seem to recall that the renovation of Suger (dedicated
on 11 June 1144 if I remember correctly) was the apse of St Denis in Paris, not Vezelay, which I thought was not in Paris, but could be wrong.
I also seem to recall a rather extensive treatise from Suger on the work at St. Denis which contains some of his theological/liturgical musings on the
symbolism of light.
If the "White Garment of Churches" film you reference is the same as the one I'm familiar with, Vezelay features prominently in the first section on
Romanesque (particularly the Eve Portal) while the St. Denis renovation forms the seque between the Romanesque and Gothic halves of the presentation.
