We are now looking to recruit to the following vacancies:-
Collections Access Manager
£26,835 - £28,919 p.a.
Full Time Post (37 Hours)
Post Number X3127
The post holder will be project manager for the 'The 2 Million
Project', an ambitious project to fully document, digitise, store and
make accessible Leicester City Museums' collections. The post requires
excellent project management and communication skills and a thorough
knowledge of museum best practices including documentation, collections
care and collections access. Educated to degree level, preferably with a
postgraduate qualification, you will have an interest in a wide range of
subject areas including fine and decorative arts, natural sciences,
world culture, social history, archaeology and science and technology.
Conservator Visual Arts
£16,536 - £22,845 p.a.
Full Time Post (37 Hours)

We wish to appoint a conservator who will be responsible for the
conservation and care of the fine art collections, comprising paintings,
prints, drawings and sculpture. The remit of the post includes remedial
conservation work, framing, assisting with exhibition installations,
collections condition surveys, documentation and general collections
care. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in conservation
and will have previous experience of conservation within a museum or
similar environment.
Curatorial Trainee - Biology
£15,153 - £18,430 p.a.

This post provides an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to
start a career in museums. You will be trained in curation, collections
care, documentation, research, interpretation and communication skills
in relation to Natural History. This will include taking a fully funded
two year distance learning MA/MSc in Museum Studies with the Department
of Museum Studies, University of Leicester. A good degree in a
biological sciences subject is essential. Please note that this is not a
position for a geologist or palaeontologist.
