The website of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008 has just been launched to help promote the Year, which has adopted the slogan 'Together in Diversity'.
The European Ombudsman has told Parliament's Civil Liberties Committee that the current system for public access to documents "suffers from a lack of clarity and a shortage of resources".
The Chairman of the EP Constitutional Affairs Committee wants a "proper communication policy" to explain the content and the objectives of the new Treaty to the public.
A three-part 'defence package' aims to improve the state of the Union's defence industries and markets.
The 2nd EU-Africa Summit in Lisbon this weekend will aim to create a strategic partnership between the two and to adopt an Action Plan for 2008-2010.
The Report 'Ethnic Minorities in the Labour Market: An Urgent Call for Better Social Inclusion' makes eight recommendations to the Commission for improving access to jobs for those from ethnic minorities.
The Commission has set out actions to be carried out by itself and the Member States to strengthen the European Neighbourhood Policy.
