Hi,
I'm in the process of revamping the Bath Spa library's presence on
bathspa.ac.uk. Much fun testing the limits of what the CMS will allow.
Anyway, I've suggested a 'meet the staff' section might be a good idea,
to promote library staff and services. My colleagues have greeted this
possibility with a certain degree of cautious enthusiasm...
Before proceeding any further I wanted to check what other libraries do
in this regard. I'm in favour of a single page covering our twenty-odd
staff, listing the subject librarians individually by name, with a small
photo and list of specialist subjects. Other library staff would get the
option of either an individual entry similar to a subject librarian, or
a simple presence as part of an entry covering a whole team (maybe
appearing in a group photo or similar).
More detailed profiles are a possibility, but I'm not certain they'd get
read enough to justify the time taken in putting them together. Also the
Uni offers space for staff to enter detailed personal profiles elsewhere
on the bathspa.ac.uk site, and I'm disinclined to duplicate.
What does your library do?
