		23rd IEEE/ACM International Conference on

	      Automated Software Engineering (ASE) 2008

		   http://www.di.univaq.it/ase2008/

		    *Call for Workshop Proposals*

The 23rd IEEE International Conference on Automated Software
Engineering (ASE 2008) invites submissions of workshop proposals. The
workshops co-located with the conference provide a forum for a group
of typically 25 to 40 participants to exchange opinions, views,
advancing ideas, and discussing preliminary results on topics related
to software engineering research and applications. Workshops should
not be seen as an alternative forum for presenting full research
papers. The workshops may be one or two days long and will be held
before the conference on September 15-16.

Proposals for organising workshops should be prepared
following the guidelines below.

- Submission of proposals

Workshop proposals should be written in English. They must
not exceed 3 pages, and must be submitted in PDF format via email to both
workshop organisers. They should include the following information:

       	 - outline of the theme and goals of the workshop including
its relevance to the field of Automated Software Engineering

	 - indication of the targeted audience and justification of
the expected number of participants to help determine whether
the workshop is financially feasible - in case of previously
held workshops, the number of submissions and registered
attendees as well as the web site should be included

	 - description of the workshop format (e.g. paper
	 presentations, breakout sessions, panel-like discussions,
	 combination of formats).

	 - description of the participant solicitation and selection
	 process.

	 - description of the publicity strategy that will be used by
the workshop organisers to promote the workshop.

	 - brief description of the organiser's background, including
relevant past experience on organising workshops and contact
	 information.

	 - initial version of the call for papers that the workshop
	 organisers intend to use.

	 - preferences for workshop dates, duration (1 or 2 days), and
	 any other scheduling constraints.

	 - indication of the equipment, room capacity, and any other
resource necessary for the organisation of the workshop.

	 - indication of how the workshop proceedings will be
published and if an International Standard Serial Number
(ISSN) should be provided by the conference.

Note that the workshop co-chairs will consider the preference of
workshop dates specified by the organisers, but the acceptance of a
workshop proposal does not guarantee adherence to the requested
date/time. The workshop co-chairs will assume that workshop proposers
will be able to run a workshop on either of the dates that ASE 2008
has reserved for workshops.

- Review Process

Workshop proposals will be reviewed by the ASE 2008 workshop
co-chairs. Acceptance will be based on an evaluation of the workshop's
potential for generating useful results, the timeliness and expected
interest in the topic, the organiser's ability to lead a successful
workshop, and potential for attracting sufficient number of
participants.

Accepted workshop must adhere to the common deadlines listed below for
submission of papers, acceptance of papers and preparation of
proceedings.

- Publication

Organisers of accepted workshops are responsible for producing a
master copy of the workshop proceedings containing the accepted
papers, following a template that will be sent to the organisers in
due course.

- Registration

All workshop participants and organisers must register for a
workshop. The registration fee will be set by the workshop organisers
and the conference committee, has to cover the costs of the workshop
venue, proceedings, coffee breaks and lunch per each day of the
workshop. Workshop registrations will be managed centrally by the ASE
2008 organising committee.
