Hi Grant and Rebekah,
Thanks for the Edinburgh offer; a trip to Scotland would be great. Want to keep up the momentum for our conferences.
David mentions a clash with another event in September. Also, we had previously discussed the possibility of re-timing perhaps to the spring . September tends to be a bad time for some of us ( eg myself!) who will be in the throes of beginning a new term. Having said that , there are always clashes and reasons for difficulty, and September/ Oct has worked well for several years for us, and so if 11/12 September is the only reasonable date for yourselves I'd say go for it.
( re the possibility of other offers, one of my colleagues at Plymouth had mooted the idea of Plymouth but we aren't in a position really to offer, plus it's not so long since we had a southwest ( Exeter) base, so count us out.)
Are you emerging from maternity leave Rebekah - hope going well?

Subject: CP Conference 2008
So far there doesn't seem to be any definite arrangement for the next CP conference....so Rebekah Pratt and I have scoped out the possibility of hosting the next conference in Edinburgh. We would be able to jointly (Edinburgh and Napier University) host an event on 11th and 12th September on the Craiglockhart campus of Napier University which is pretty handy for the town centre.
Obviously this is simply a proposal for discussion at this stage, so it would be great to get some feedback or hear from anyone else with plans to run a similar event. There have been some great conferences recently and after the good spirit at York this year, we must keep the momentum going.
Let us know what you feel about a trip to Scotland! Edinburgh has terrific transport links and has a welcoming atmosphere for this sort of event.
Best wishes, Grant and Rebekah
