There Bulletin Board,
For various reasons, we still have a 10 years old Nonius FR571 to be
given away. If I recall correctly the same model was called Eliott GX21
before. It has a Cu anode and a fine focus (0.3 mm) and two ports. There
is an osmic blue mirror to go with it. It has been used for protein
crystallography. We normally run it at 40 kV, 75 mA to have stable
operation and a long filament lifetime. However, one can go up to 100
mA. The switches for 1 mA and 1 kV steps do not function properly any
more, so you have to step the power in steps of 10 kV and 10 mA.
Otherwise the system is running fine and very stable. The generator has
been standing in a corridor for about one year which may not be good.
According to the original installation instructions, there are 3
cubicles: 2 weighing 500 kg and one weighing 900 kg. If you come with a
truck to fetch it, I could arrange for some strong people to load it in
the truck. Unloading you will have to do yourself. The Generator is
located in the Frankfurt (Germany) area.
Anyone interested should send me an email.
Best regards,
Herman Schreuder
