Epping Forest District Museum would like to recruit a freelancer to work
on the pilot of a local history website for KS 2 schools within the
district.
Main responsibilities will include:
-Researching material within the collections of the Epping Forest
District Museum, Essex Record Office and elsewhere as necessary
-Selecting material most suitable for use as a teaching resource within
primary schools
-Writing online learning materials
-Liasing with partner schools on the selection of materials, creation
of teaching resources
Depending on timing, they might also include:
-Liasing with the web design company on the format and development of
the site
-Evaluating the pilot project
Desirable skills / experience include:
-Experience of researching local history resources
-Experience of creating online teaching resources at KS 2, especially
for use on an interactive whiteboard
-Project management and evaluation experience
The total budget available for this work is £3000 (based on a daily
rate of £150 = 20 days work). This will include all travel costs.
The work needs to be completed by the end of February 2008, although
there may be a possibility to extend this.
