Dear friends. I was committed to do a research about one issue for
constructing an index.
We have 45 categorical variables (with values from 1 to 4, where 1 is the
lowest and 4 is the maximum score) that are required for the estimation of
an index. The 45 variables are comprised in three main areas, with different
number of variables on each area.
People normally build consensus and define arbitrarily the weights for each
of the areas under analysis. My question is if this process could be
developed under some analytical/statistical way?
Thanks.
