I wonder why this hasn't been done with glucose sensors first, but the patents for phone-POCT would surely be worth millions- the processing capabilities and operating systems of phones are vastly more sophisticated than any of the hand held POCT devices i've seen so far. Plus, for positive patient ID, maybe our personal phone numbers will one-day become our NHS numbers (or vice versa); the results could be texted straight into the electronic patient record...
