Hi,
Sites do not need to provide a UI to enable NGS users to login. A site
can choose to just provide batch access, via globus, to submit jobs.
Some sites choose to provide gsissh access tothee head node, others a
seperate UI, but its not a requirement. At the moment the core sites
only have 1 dedicated UI in EGEE speak and have always provided as a
sort of UI, direct access to the head nodes of the sites.
Could I suggest that anyone with questions on the technical aspects of
joining the NGS creates a topic at https://forum.ngs.ac.uk/ , so that
the NGS Site Admins can answer you directly, and explain how they are
configured etc.?
Regards,
Steve.

Subject: supporting ngs
Hi
Could I continue the ngs discussion..... I understand that at Glasgow
they use gsissh to login to the local UI from which they then use
globus-job-run (or qsub?) to submit their job to the cluster. Does
this mean we need to make a UI available at our site for ngs users to
login to if we want to support them?
