Hi Glenn,
Within my Trust Engerix B is given to staff who have a latex allergy as
the bung is latex-free. Also, this is the only vaccine licensed for a
super-accelerated course (i.e. 3 vaccines in one month).
We use Hep B Vax Pro as a preference when a standard course is required
but revert to Engerix B if the first course did not give any immunity to
the clinician.
Kind regards,
Rita

Hello
can I ask if anyone uses Engerix B as a first line drug in vaccination
against Hepatitis B and if so is this because it is more effective than
HBVAXPRO?
The costs are similar but obviously the Engerix is twice the strength
so I
wonder if it is more effective. However, trying to get this information
is
impossible as the drug companies will only give details on how
effective
their own particular product is.
Does anyone know of a trial between these two?
Regards
Glenn
