From what I've seen/heard, I agree with you about actors, even those
that can deliver modern prose convincingly - which I think means
conversationally/naturally. I suspect that they only have Shakespeare
and memories of reciting 19th century poems to draw on.
Of course, we know better what we're doing, at least with our own stuff...
