Hi Derek
Thanks for pointing out the later broadcast. I'd not yet read that email
(which sort of shows another problem of having short timelines). I'm
sure everyone else will have the mail but may not have read it yet so
here it is:
"Due to the short notice given to the sites for installing the new
lcg-vomscerts rpm containing the new voms.cern.ch host certificate, this
host will not give voms proxies until the end of November 2007. This
measure is taken in order to give time to the sites to upgrade.
The consequence is that _voms-proxy-init_ will print a warning when it
will try (and fail) to get a proxy from _voms.cern.ch_. But
_lcg-voms.cern.ch_ *will still be able* to provide VOMS proxies.
VOMRS which is hosted by _lcg-voms.cern.ch_ is not affected.
Also, the gridmap file generation from voms.cern.ch is not affected.
So *all VOMS services will be available*.
Dear site administrators, please, upgrade lcg-vomscerts to version 4.7.0
ugently.
This applies to VOname = ALICE, ATLAS, CMS, LHCb, DTEAM, OPS, Sixt,
Unosat, Geant4.
Please contact [log in to unmask] in case of problem.
"
Anyway, the best thing is still to upgrade sooner rather than later.
Cheers,
Jeremy
