Evolving synthetic societies: a workshop
Leiden, February 25 -26, 2008
You are invited to attend a workshop to be held to mark the end of the
NewTies project. NewTies is an FP6 Future and Emerging technologies project
with the objective of evolving an artificial society capable of exploring
and understanding its environment through cooperation and interaction. See
https://www.new-ties.org/
The workshop programme will include invited talks, a summary of the work
done in the project, and discussion on the prospects for the creation of
synthetic societies and what they can be used for.
The workshop will be held at the Hotel de Gouden Leeuw
<http://www.hoteldegoudenleeuw.nl/pages/Default.aspx?ID=526> on Monday and
Tuesday 25 and 26th February 2008, starting with lunch on the
Monday and ending before lunch on Tuesday. The hotel will be used for both
overnight accommodation and the meeting. It is about 20 minutes from Leiden
and Schiphol, in the Netherlands.
The workshop will be immediately followed by a 'hands on' tutorial session
from lunch on Tuesday 26 to before lunch on Wednesday 27th February for
those who would like to learn about the NewTies platform in more detail.
If you wish to attend the workshop, please contact Emma Daniels
<[log in to unmask]> before December 17 2007 to book a place. There
is a fee of EUR 400 for the workshop, which includes registration and all
