I agree with Kasper about the last 3 lines, but also
found the whole poem really fine.
Have you seen those pictures of former Russian
monumental statues in the home gardens of ordinary
Russians? Apparently, the state was having trouble
disposing of them until they became cult objects for
home owners. I saw a picture of the (huge) head of one
such statue (of Stalin, I think) in the overgrown
garden of a former KGB guard. It was moving,
hilarious, and appalling all at once--which your poem
captured for me (thank you).
