Early Warning Systems
The International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN/ISDR) secretariat
released a new publication series on good practices and lessons learned
focusing on different topics, e.g.
- Gender Perspective: Working together for Disaster Risk Reduction
www.unisdr.org/gender-good-practices
- Building Disaster Resilient Communities
www.unisdr.org/ngos-good-practices
- Towards a Culture of Prevention: Disaster Risk Reduction Begins at
School

To facilitate knowledge sharing and exchange of information on early
warning systems, the UN/ISDR Platform for the Promotion of Early Warning
(PPEW) is collecting good practices and lessons learned in this area with
a focus on the four elements of early warning.
For more information on the publication and on how to submit a case study
to the UN/ISDR Platform for the Promotion of Early Warning, please refer
to the attached call for contributions. All case studies should be sent by
e-mail to Sandra Amlang ([log in to unmask]) by 31 December 2007.
Please forward this email to any relevant person that could contribute to
the good practices and lessons learned brochure on early warning systems.
Regards,
