Hi,
Looking through various institutional policies and strategic plans here at
Derby (Corporate Plans, LIS Development Plans, Learning, Teaching and
Assessment Plans)I find no specific mention of 'Information Literacy'(IL).
If your own HEI's strategic documentation does mention IL, it would be
really helpful if you could send me copies.
I know IL is a contested (controversial?) concept so if pushed, I'd say
I'm especially interested in evidencing positive measures to encourage
information professionals to work collaboratively with academics in course
creation and or assessment. Has this been worded in any key strategy
documents you know of?
Basically, I'm trying to build a picture of how far HEI academics have
welcomed or rejected the input of library staff and liaison teams in
incorporating these lifelong skills and attitudes. IL as a term might be
used positively to gain access to curriculums but how far has this
happened?
Any assistance or views on this would be most welcome.
