Course description
An interactive course for children’s librarians and other interested staff.
The course will explore the meaning and importance of information literacy
for children and young people and identify practical strategies for
supporting it through homework help, class visits and other public library
initiatives.
Expected learning outcomes
•more understanding of information literacy and its relevance in the public
library
•greater awareness of digital citizenship
•more knowledge of different learning styles and ways to support them
•methods for helping young people learn how to find, evaluate and use
information
