DOUBLE GAIN FOR SAGE IN PUBLIC HEALTH

Los Angeles, London, New Delhi, and Singapore (November 26 2007) - SAGE, the world's fifth largest journals publisher, is delighted to announce two new society partnerships that further strengthen the company's strong presence in international public health. Beginning in 2008, SAGE will publish the Scandinavian Journal of Public Health (SJPH) and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Public Health (APJPH).

Now quarterly, APJPH, published in association with the Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health, publishes original articles on public health issues, including implications for practical applications to professional education and services for public health and primary healthcare in the Asia-Pacific region. The Consortium's member institutions are comprised of the largest and most influential schools of public health in the Asia-Pacific region.

"Our smart partnership with SAGE will certainly bring APJPH to a higher level where the journal, solely committed to public health issues in the Asia Pacific region, will experience increased global visibility," stated APJPH's Editor-in-Chief, Wah Yun Low, PhD.

Published eight times a year, SJPH is a forum for Nordic as well as international public health research and policy. Legislation in most countries in the Nordic region allows researchers to carry out studies linking various population registers by means of individual personal identification numbers. This provides a unique source of data which is invaluable for the public health community and SJPH aims to publish the excellent research that results from this. The journal is the official publication of the Associations of Public Health in Nordic Regions, comprising leading public health organizations in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

"SAGE has an excellent reputation for insightful marketing, and we have been impressed with the smooth, efficient service we have received so far," said Finn Kamper-Jørgensen SJPH Editor-in-Chief, Director of the Danish Institute of Public Health and President of the Danish Society. "We look forward to working with SAGE on SJPH to bring this important journal to a wider audience."

"SAGE will provide the full support of its global organization and cutting edge marketing technologies to ensure the widest possible dissemination of these important journals," commented Ziyad Marar, Publishing Director, SAGE. He continued, "Our goal is to be the natural home for authors, editors and societies, delivering a high-quality professional service to our partners-with a strong commitment to meeting their unique needs."

Publishing over 485 journals SAGE has seen significant growth in its science, technology and medical (STM) portfolio, with over 115 titles in health sciences, and 30 specifically in the fields of public health and nursing. Key titles include Health Education & Behavior and The Diabetes Educator.

SAGE's expanding STM journal portfolio is complemented by an authoritative collection of reference works on important health issues, including the forthcoming Encyclopedia of Global Health and Encyclopedia of Obesity. Both titles will publish in spring 2008. Further information can be found at www.sagepub.com/reference.nav.

2008 institutional subscriptions for both journals include Combined (Print and E-access), E-access, or Print Only options. The full-text for both journals is available via the SAGE Journals Online platform. APJPH is now available online at http://apjph.sagepub.com. More content will be uploaded soon.
The SJPH web site will be http://sjp.sagepub.com and will be available from January 2008.
