Subject: RE: Explanation of early publication letter
Hi Anne or Samantha,
This is what I mean
Hickson M Use of probiotic Lactobacillus preparations to prevent
diarrhoea associated with antibiotics BMJ
2007;335;SO;doi:10.1136/bmj39231.599815.55
It was published early and I don't know where it would be in the paper
copy. I got this off the BMJ website and need to reference it in a
paper. Is this correct?
Rosemary

You would just reference as normal and put in brackets (pre-print
e-publication) after the reference.
Hope this helps.

Dear Ann or Sam,
Haven't quite caught up with the papers which are published early on
line in the major journals. Are they subsequently published in the paper
version? If not how would you reference them if you were writing a paper
etc.
Rosemary
