Survey Research Assistant
Grade 6: Salary £23,692 - £28,289 p.a.
The Oxford Internet Institute is looking for a full-time Survey Research Assistant preferably with training in social-psychology, sociology or related social sciences and experience and skill in survey research and data analysis in an academic, government or business setting. Candidates should be able to design a database, or take a database from a survey firm or archive and format it as instructed, and undertake multivariate statistical analysis. The ability to construct clear tables and graphics that address particular questions in ways understandable to a non-technical audience is also essential. In addition, the Survey Research Assistant should be capable of conducting analyses for social science audiences and academic journals and there will be opportunities for co-authored publications.
The Survey Research Assistant will work with senior staff on the conduct and analysis of the Oxford Internet Surveys (OxIS) and other survey research conducted within the institution. Examples of other current and ongoing projects are a survey of Marriage and the Internet and Online Gambling. Analysis of related national and international databases will be done for comparative and other analytical purposes.
Based in the centre of Oxford, the post is available immediately, for two years in the first instance with the possibility of renewal thereafter. There is funding for a full-time position but applicants wishing to work part-time will also be considered.
