My guess is that it probably won't work without some driver work from
Paul and/or Bernhard.
However, there is a demand for new controllers to fill the role formerly
occupied by dial boxes. Some people are using the PowerMate, although it
only provides a single dial and button.
If a new controller has the potential to attact a lot of users, then we
want to support it. There are issues though - hundreds of trendy new
input devices appear every year, and then dissappear just as quickly.
Devoting time and effort to developing drivers straight away therefore
risks wasting a lot of development time.
Having said that, this looks like a device with potential. Have you
tried using it with other (non-crystallographic) 3d applications? How do
you rate it for intuitiveness, precision, responsiveness?
