Tools and standards for creating content for learning platforms (with apologies for cross-posting.)
Becta has commissioned Schemeta to undertake a short project to inform their policy on the use of authoring and tagging tools for learning content. The project team are gathering information and contacting people as part of these enquiries. Becta would be very grateful for your co-operation with the research and thank you in advance. Schemeta is working with AlphaPlus and Sparrowhawk and Heald on this project.
The objectives are to Investigate and report on the availability and effectiveness of tools that allow content providers to supply their content in standards-based tagged and packaged form for inclusion in learning platforms and to enable discovery.
This will include investigation of tools for content which support technical standards and specifications, in particular one or more of the following:
* SCORM Content Aggregation
* SCORM Run-Time
* SCORM Simple Sequencing
* IMS QTI
* Metadata - in particular LOM profiles
A short list of approximately 20 tools will be identified, researched further and then evaluated. The findings and recommendation will help Becta advise content developers on choices of tools.
If you have any tools that you think would be useful you can put them forward for consideration on the survey page:
