Dear Mr Kebbay
I hope you won't mind this final reminder, but you don't seem to be represented at the above seminar and reception. If your diary is full, or if it would be more appropriate, I would be happy for you to pass this invitation on to a colleague. Please note there is a charge for most delegates, although no one is excluded on the basis of ability to pay (see below).
All delegates attending the seminar will also receive complimentary places to attend the Parliamentary Reception. This will give an opportunity to continue discussions informally with Members of Parliament and central government officials. Please find further information below.
Seminar: Implementing the School Admissions Code
Morning, Thursday 8th November 2007
9am to 1pm
This seminar is structured to be of practical use to both policy makers and frontline stakeholders - including education professionals, learners, and parents - who will have chance to share their views and experiences. Policy makers will present their latest thinking as they consider refinements to the operation of the Code for next year.
The context is the introduction this spring of the new School Admissions Code by the Government. Schools and local authorities experienced their first big test preparing for this September's intake.
The focus is unresolved implementation issues such as clarity for users, fairness, choice, and implications for school performance. Discussions will also address integrating the Code with wider policy objectives such as inclusion and Every Child Matters, co-ordination of support for parents, children and schools, and will explore and the role of local authorities in this process.
An updated, live agenda <http://www.westminsterforumprojects.co.uk/educationforum/admissions.pdf> for this seminar is available at our website. For your information, please find our current agenda attached below my signature.
