What Edmund is talking about of course is the new Oxford Collected Works of Thomas Middleton, just now shipped and arriving in the hands of eager ones. Mine hasn't arrived yet.
Relevance to contemporary poetry: through Swinburne & Thomas Eliot. Through the visual art of Wyndham Lewis. In a particular kind of Middletonian wit that one can just about detect in Lewis Carroll & so on.
It's a bit sly to suggest that a comedy almanac written by an owl is the prime selling point, though I think I've come across it before somewhere - isn't there a picture of the Owl in the middle of his prognostications, wearing a scholarly gown specially adapted with holes for the wings?
