We've had several reports of our Blackboard servers running much slower
after upgrading from 6.3 to 7.1. A description of our setup is at the
end of the email. Some users have reported page load times in excess of
30 seconds, and some pages never successfully loading. Our DB and App
servers all seem to have plenty of spare resources, and currently we are
unsure what pages / events cause these performance problems.
Has anyone:
Seen similar performance problems in 7.x?
Successfully tuned Blackboard to give better performance?
Any experiences, help, advice, or suggested tuning settings would all be
very welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Paul
1x DB server: SUN V440 (8Gb RAM, 4 proc)
3x App servers: SUN V440's (8 Gb RAM, 4 proc).
All machines running Solaris 9.
Load is distributed across the three app servers using a network load
balancer.
CPU and memory both have plenty of spare capacity on all servers.
