Dear all,
I was wondering whether you may be able to help with a question we're
looking into at Warwick. Here, when a student has been permitted to 're-sit
without residence' they are not given library access or use of any other
facilities, nor are they entitled to any academic support (although in
reality it is not possible to stop a student from attending lectures or
seeking/receiving guidance from staff). Even students who are sitting exams
as a first attempt but in the following September/June exams period are not
given access to facilities. Are such students at other HEIs routinely given
access to University facilities? Are there any difficulties with this i.e.
has the issue of software license for IT access been raised?
Similarly, what level of access to facilities (particularly IT and library)
is enjoyed by students who are in suspension/withdrawal for medical or
personal reasons? Are such students actively discouraged from being on
campus or is this allowed on an informal basis?
