I don't have the Standards for
England, but Standards for Wales can be downloaded from
,"Minimum Standards for Care Homes for Young Adults" & Standards for older
people can be found on

Subject: Residential Homes
Does anyone know of a standard for accessibility for residential homes for
elderly people? For example, proportion of accessible bedrooms to
standard bedrooms etc. We have a proposal for a res. home which will have
identical bedrooms, all with standard en suite. I cannot see anything in
Part M or BS8300, and cannot find any regulations or best practice on-line.
Thanks.
