I sent the Welsh Standards off in a hurry the other day, but realised that I
do have an NHS Estates Document
"Health Facilities note 19" "The design of Residential Care and Nursing
homes for Older People". ISBN 0 953415805
It was available from Centre for Accessible Environments

Alyson,
Following a lot of work with the local inspection teams I've been
prompted by them to try to draft something because collectively we
couldn't find anything appropriate to the situations that tended to
arise.
I have relied on the experience of OT's, the homes and the inspection
teams using as a basis the BS.
I only have working notes so if anyone knows of anything please tell me
soon before I write too much more.
Thanks

Subject: Residential Homes
Does anyone know of a standard for accessibility for residential homes
for
elderly people? For example, proportion of accessible bedrooms to
standard bedrooms etc. We have a proposal for a res. home which will
have
identical bedrooms, all with standard en suite. I cannot see anything
in
Part M or BS8300, and cannot find any regulations or best practice
on-line.
Thanks.
